NBC announced the new Heores webisodes (web-only episodes) coming up, called ‘Nowhere Man‘. The new web sequel starts immediately after episode 3×24 and will introduce us with the story of the Puppeteer, played by David H. Lawrence

As you remember, the Puppeteers used to ‘pop-in’ the episodes. First, we thought Syler killed him, but he came from nowhere in Claire Bennets home in Costa Verde asking for help. After helping him (she did provide him with forged government documents), he disappeared, but  popped in again as a ‘present‘ in agent Emile Dankos home. But was he dead ? Hope that Nowhere Man websites answer that.

It seems that staying in the ’shadow’ was on purpose, and got the Puppeteer his own show, which will most probably explain the life of  Eric Doyle.

We managed to find an interview of David H. Lawrence:

PH: You’ve always been really supportive of fans and spoiler seekers. Are you a big fan of the show?
DH:
I was always a big fan of the show… I’m a huge goofy fan boy.. before I joined the cast. I always thought to myself, “These are the most gorgeous people on television. I will never get on this show.” And then it happened.

PH: Do you feel your fans are what helped you stay on the show?
DL: Absolutely. I know that the people of NBC and the writers on the show watch what happens online. There’s an organic thing that happens when a character is liked and a character is not liked. Sometimes they don’t care.
I was only supposed to be on the show for one episode. Then they were rewriting things for me. It became this perfect storm of awesomeness.
I kinda feel like Urkel. He was just a guest star and they ended up building a series around him. I would love to continue to be a part of the Heroes family.
The only negative thing I’ve ever heard about my character is the whole “it’s been done before.”

PH: Oh, yeah?
DH: They say that they borrow from others [i.e. X-Men]. But let’s be honest, it’s all variants on the same stories that they have already seen. They say in writing school that there are only 12 stories you can tell.
The fact that people want to amplify an ability that we already have, as human beings, into a power we’d like to have is a common motif. Heroes is all about humanity. It’s all about the human side. I think that’s what a lot of shows in this genre are lacking. I don’t think people can relate to what it’s like to have a superpower but they can relate to what it’s like to deal with it.
Like with Eric Doyle, he’s not the best looking man but his voice and his eyes are interesting. That’s what I can bring to the party. The fans have responded in a way I never expected.

PH: How has playing the character of Eric Doyle changed as your time on the show has expanded?
DH: Not at all. I was given one piece of direction in the audition process that cemented it for me. Greg Beeman told me, “This is the guy who didn’t get the cheerleader. This is the guy the cheerleader would flirt with to get him to do her math homework.”  When he said that in the audition, I got it.
This was me in high school. I played kicker in football, tennis, and I was the announcer. But, I did really well in school. The hot cheerleaders didn’t want to date me, but they wanted me to help them with their math homework and their computers.
I saw a woman shudder, and I thought I messed it up or I really creeped her out. I found out that I creeped her out and got the part.

PH: There have been some rumblings about you getting your own webisode series, “Nowhere Man.” Congratulations! What can you tell us about it?
DH: It’s a four part series. It will bring a character back. It was a character that was on very briefly and was enjoyed by fans. This character becomes my nemesis on the show. I will get a love interest. You see the humanity. It’s about the simple moral struggles. It brings it all down to a simple motivation… protecting a damsel in distress.
It’s really cool. It was shot on a red camera. It’s completely digital from stem to stern.

PH: Does Puppetmaster fix the economy?
DH: No, he doesn’t fix the economy. If he would just get the chance and people would just let him do his job…
His power first came out when he was forced to live with his uncle. One day he just made his uncle swim out to sea so far that he couldn’t come back. That’s the way to kill someone. There’s a statement! Maybe we can find some people who don’t know about the economy and make them swim away.

PH: What was your favorite part about making the mini-series?
DH: There’s a thing called a call sheet. They have all the names of the people reporting for the next day of shooting. With an ensemble cast like Heroes, there’s no particular order. With a show with one main star their name shows up on the top.
My goal is to one day have a network show with my name be number one on the call sheet. I did get to be number one on the call sheet for the webisodes. I liked having the opportunity to be in on that process.

PH: What new projects do you have coming up?
DH: I’m shooting a new movie, The New True Charlie Wu. It’s going to be a funded by fans movie. It’s about an accountant who wants to be someone else. Everyone is telling him he should follow his dreams except me, who is his mean old boss.

PH: Finally, I’m sure you get this a lot… if you could have one superpower, what would it be?
DH: When I was a kid, I wanted to be invisible to sneak into the girl’s locker room. Today, If I had a superpower, I would love the ability to fly. It would be one of those things that would speed up my life. I’ve always thought it would be fun. I’ve thought about being a pilot but then I’ve chickened out. I think everything you do in life should be about doing it great. The truth is, we all have a secret desire to be more than we are. Flying is one of those things.
Being attractive to woman would be a good one too. If you could just make people say, “I don’t know what there is about him, I can’t take my mind off of him.”
