The few episodes of the long awaited show Stargate Universe that have already been aired, were more than enough to disappoint the fans of the two previous shows Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis. Why? If you want my opinion, the bad play acting is above all reasons. Y may have noticed that all actors there (probably except Robert Carlyle) act as they are forced to be part of this show, and as they have one thought in their heads “Pity I could not make It in Heroes”. You may judge me for saying that, but guys, face it, that is the truth.
What can we expect in the future? God knows. Perhaps this slow beginning is part of the story (a directors trick to make us kind of bored) and few episodes later, the story will suddenly turn around, making happy all those crazy fans (me included) that waited so long for this show. But for now the show is slow, disappointing and hard to watch. And that is truth, after 10 minutes of the latest episode 5 Light, I switched to “Torchwood” and “Doctor Who”
The show also suffers from claims of sexism against the female characters (recent interview with several members of the SGU cast). We have to admit that the all the female characters are kept in the shadows.
Fingers crossed guys, maybe it will get better.
